Approach
Diagnose. Design. Implement. Advise.
Every Forthwell engagement follows the same arc: an AI and systems audit, a practical roadmap, implementation of the selected solutions, and an ongoing partnership as your fractional AI and technology team.
The engagement
Four phases. One partner.
01
Step one
Diagnose
We start with an AI and systems audit — mapping how the business actually runs today. Workflows, software, data, reporting, administrative work, handoffs, and AI readiness. The output is an honest read on what's working, what's not, and where technology could move the business.
02
Step two
Design
We turn the audit into a ranked opportunity list and a 12-month roadmap. For each opportunity we name what to buy, connect, automate, build, replace, or leave alone — with impact estimates and enough clarity to make a confident go / no-go decision.
03
Step three
Implement
We execute the roadmap. Configure software, build integrations, deploy AI tools, create internal applications, and roll changes out alongside your team with training and documentation included.
04
Ongoing
Advise
After launch we stay engaged as your fractional AI and technology team — extending the roadmap, evaluating new tools as they emerge, managing vendors, and helping leadership avoid expensive mistakes.
Principles
How we make decisions inside an engagement.
Audit before we recommend
We don't propose tools before we understand how the business actually runs today.
Technology-agnostic
We recommend the right response — off-the-shelf, integration, automation, custom, or none — based on the problem, not our catalog.
Execution is part of the engagement
We're not a slide-deck consultancy. Forthwell builds, configures, integrates, and rolls out the work we recommend.
Accountable after launch
We stay engaged so the systems get used, evolve with the business, and continue to produce value.
FAQ
What to expect at each step.
The questions leadership teams ask most often before an engagement begins.
- What happens in the audit?
- We sit down with leadership and the people doing the work, then walk through how the company operates today — workflows, software, data, reporting, administrative work, handoffs between teams, and AI readiness. We document how information moves, where it stalls or gets retyped, and where technology, automation, or better systems could produce measurable value. The output is a written baseline, a ranked opportunity list, and a recommended engagement level for the ongoing partnership.
- What does the roadmap include?
- The roadmap turns the audit into a plan. For each opportunity, it names what to buy, connect, automate, build, replace, or leave alone; which tools are involved; what the change delivers to the business; and how it's sequenced so leadership sees value early. You get scope, order of operations, effort, and a clear view of what execution requires — enough for a confident go / no-go decision phase by phase.
- What does implementation deliver?
- Implementation is where the roadmap gets built. Forthwell configures the software, wires the integrations, deploys the AI tools, builds custom internal applications where needed, and rolls changes out alongside your team with training and documentation included — so the work is live, adopted, and owned by the business.
- What if we need custom software built from scratch?
- Custom builds are folded into the ongoing partnership at an elevated monthly fee over a defined term, rather than billed as a separate lump-sum project. That keeps a single predictable monthly investment, avoids surprise invoices, and keeps Forthwell accountable through design, development, deployment, and post-launch support. Once the initial term ends, the fee steps back down to the standard ongoing partnership level.
- Who owns what gets built?
- For systems built specifically for your business, you own the custom application once the contracted engagement is complete. For work built on Forthwell's underlying frameworks or reusable components, Forthwell retains ownership of those building blocks and you receive a continuing license to use the configured solution. We make the treatment clear upfront in the roadmap.
- What does the ongoing partnership look like?
- After launch, Forthwell acts as your fractional AI and technology team on a monthly basis — advising leadership, evaluating new tools and AI capabilities as they emerge, extending automations and integrations, coordinating outside vendors, training employees, and tracking measurable results.
The Forthwell Partnership
One upfront audit. One predictable monthly partnership.
Forthwell is built as a long-term partner, not a project shop. Every engagement follows the same simple structure — so leadership sees a single predictable investment instead of surprise invoices as the technology evolves.
No hourly billing. No handed-off-and-abandoned projects.
01 · Discover
A fixed-fee AI and Systems Audit
A single upfront investment for the diagnosis and roadmap. We map how the business runs today, identify where AI, automation, and better systems will produce value, and recommend the right ongoing engagement level. It's not a development deposit — it's a clean go / no-go decision point before anything gets built.
02 · Build & Evolve
A fixed monthly Forthwell Partnership
One monthly fee covers strategy, vendor evaluation, process design, integrations, automations, AI tool deployment, employee training, technical project management, and ongoing implementation capacity. The engagement level is set by the roadmap — from a solo professional running lean to a company that needs embedded technical capacity in the seat.
Forthwell Solo
Solo and boutique professional firms — lobbyists, attorneys, advisors, consultants — running lean without technical staff.
from $2,500 upfront and $1,500/month
Forthwell Partner
Established operating companies with teams, multiple tools, and real workflow complexity.
from $5,000 upfront and $5,000/month
Forthwell Embedded
Companies needing a significant custom platform, deep integrations, and substantial ongoing technical capacity in the seat.
custom, based on scope and implementation capacity
03 · Custom builds, folded in
Major software builds are absorbed into the monthly fee.
When the roadmap calls for a substantial custom application, we don't hand over a large separate invoice. The build is incorporated into an elevated monthly partnership over a defined term, covering design, development, deployment, and support. When the term ends, the fee steps back down to the standard ongoing rate.
Custom development is included when identified in the approved roadmap and sized within the engagement level. Material additions may trigger a scope, timeline, or fee adjustment. Third-party software and infrastructure costs are billed at cost.
One-off engagements
Forthwell is designed for ongoing partnership, but focused one-time projects are available when they're clearly the right fit.
